Also, quick reminder that my Oscar Trivia page is always available to view.
You know what it is. Oscar season. My favorite time of the year.
Every year, we kick off the season with a timeline of all the major Oscar-related events (at least all the ones that I care about, which is most of them). I know this wasn’t something that was easy to find when I was getting into this stuff, so I like to think that there’s a certain percentage of the public I’m helping out with this.
Here’s what we got this year: (more…)
It’s that time of year again. Awards season is upon us. Which means you know what to expect out of me for the next three months.
I always kick off the season with a timeline of all the major Oscar related events that will take place over the next few months. All of the major guilds and awards (except regional critics. I don’t put any stock in those the way others do).
If you’re looking to find out when certain guilds will announce, this is the place to look. (more…)
As it is December, that brings with it another awards season. And, as I do every awards season, I write up a timeline of all the important events that are going to take place between now and Oscar night. Mostly I do this for myself, so I can keep track of what’s going to happen and when, and pay attention to it all.
This is a list of when all the major guilds and groups (except the regional critics, whose awards I don’t care about) will announce their nominations and hand out their awards. Only with the Oscars will I point out when voting for nominations and awards begins and ends.
This will be my go-to list over the next three months, so it might as well be yours too. And I’m going to sticky this to the top of the blog, so everyone can keep track. Don’t think nothing will be updated. It will. Just, below this post.
February 14th – WGA Awards
February 15th – ASC Awards
February 17th – CDG Awards
Academy Award Final Voting Ends (more…)

And, as I do every awards season, I write up a timeline of all the important events that are going to take place between now and Oscar night. Mostly I do this for myself, so I can keep track of what’s going to happen and when, and pay attention to it all. But it is helpful for others as well, I guess.
This is pretty much an entire list (minus some things that I really don’t care about, but hardcore Oscar people seem to) of all the major guilds and groups and when they will announce their nominations and hand out their awards. It will only be a list of nominations and awards, with the exception of the Oscars, where I will point out when both nominations voting and final ballot voting begin and end.
This will pretty much be my go-to list over the next three months, in terms of keeping up with what’s going to happen over the course of the season, so it might as well be yours too. (more…)
Here are all the important dates leading up to the Oscars. Mostly when all the pertinent groups announce stuff. Just something to use as a guide for when stuff is happening over the next two months (Note: if it doesn’t say “nominations” it means that’s when they’re announcing the winners):
1/4 — Academy Award Nominations voting ends
1/8 — DGA (Directors Guild) Nominations
1/9 — BAFTA Nominations (more…)
