Ranking Disney: #40 – Dinosaur (2000)

Dinosaur is a pretty ambitious film. I remember seeing a trailer for it in the theater and thinking, “Wow, this is nothing like Disney.” And it’s not. This is their first all-CG film, and the plot itself is just ambitious as hell.

That’s why, whenever you see anyone list the Disney films, this always has a bit of an asterisk next to it. With this, it’s always, “Yeah, it’s not great, but they tried something different here, and it’s an interesting film, so you can’t really fault them for that.”

And — it’s not great. But they tried something different here. And it’s an interesting film. A noble effort. And you can’t really fault them for that.
